Record $90-million Lotto Max jackpot won by Alberta ticket – Canada’s largest ever
The record $90M Lotto Max jackpot was won Tuesday: 8, 15, 19, 23, 26, 28, 34 + bonus 38. The Alberta ticket is Canada's largest lottery prize ever.

The record $90-million Lotto Max jackpot has been won. One ticket matched all seven numbers in the Tuesday, October 20, 2026 draw – 08 – 15 – 19 – 23 – 26 – 28 – 34, Bonus 38 – claiming the largest lottery prize ever awarded in Canadian history. The winning ticket was sold in Alberta, the OLG confirmed.
A record for the ages
The prize tops the previous Canadian record of $80.4 million, shared by two friends from London, Ontario, in December. The Calgary Herald reports the winning ticket was purchased somewhere outside Calgary and Edmonton and was won by a group of people – meaning the record prize may be split several ways. The win came six months after Lotto Max raised its jackpot cap from $80 million to $90 million, the first time the top prize had ever reached that level.
Other big winners Tuesday night
Three tickets matched six numbers plus the bonus for $205,767 each – sold in Ontario, Western Canada and Chemainus, B.C. Ten MaxMillions prizes of $1 million were won, including one by a ticket purchased in Agassiz, B.C., and roughly 34 MaxPlus prizes of $100,000 went to winners across the country. In all, 490,267 tickets won cash in the main draw.
The jackpot resets
With the record run over, the jackpot resets: Friday, October 23’s draw offers an estimated $20 million. The $90-million era ended in dramatic fashion – the prize had rolled at or near the cap through five draws, surviving the $85-million and two $90-million draws before Tuesday’s winner finally landed it.
